Meet Tommy

Just a few days ago, Tommy’s story could have ended very differently.

We received a heartbreaking call about a dog who had been left chained in a backyard after his owners packed up a U-Haul and moved away. No food. No water. Completely alone.

Thankfully, caring neighbors noticed something was wrong.

When the owners returned to pick up a few remaining belongings, the neighbors asked if they were taking their dog with them. They said they couldn’t — and when asked his name, they said he didn’t have one.

No name.

After THREE years.

So we gave him one.

This is Tommy.

And despite everything he has been through, Tommy is one of the sweetest, happiest boys you could ever meet. His tail still wags. He still leans in for affection. He still trusts people.

That says everything about who Tommy is.

Since coming into rescue, Tommy has already visited the vet, received vaccines, and started getting the care he desperately needed. Unfortunately, he also tested HIGH POSITIVE for heartworms, meaning he now faces several months of treatment before he can finally be healthy and ready for the life he deserves.

He will also need to be neutered and continue medical care along the way.

The estimated cost for Tommy’s care is around $700.
