Pete wandered up to the kind family who found him over the Fourth of July weekend, and from the moment he arrived, he showed everyone what a gentle, loving soul he is. They would keep him in a heartbeat if they could, but their older territorial dog hasn’t accepted him, and for Pete’s safety, they’re hoping to find him the forever home he truly deserves.

Pete is the definition of a gentle giant at heart.

He takes treats with the softest mouth, loves to snuggle, and would happily spend the day stretched out beside you on the couch. When bedtime comes, don’t be surprised if he wants to be tucked in right beside you—being close to his people is his favorite place to be.

One of the things his foster family loves most about him is how naturally gentle he is. Their 9-month-old baby can crawl all over him and even tug on him, and Pete never flinches. His patience, calm demeanor, and loving heart make him a truly special dog.

He’s also done wonderfully around other dogs, enjoys his walks, and has such an easygoing personality that he’s never even needed a crate.

Pete didn’t choose to become lost.

But now he has the chance to find the family he was always meant to have.
