Last July, Merle wandered up to a family’s home looking for help. They opened their hearts to him, hoping they could find his owner or the perfect forever family.

A year later…

Merle is still waiting.

His foster family has loved him deeply and given him a safe place to land, but what they want more than anything is to see him finally have a family of his very own.

Merle is the kind of dog who lives life to the fullest.

He loves running through the yard, splashing in the water, hopping in the car for an adventure, and playing until he’s worn himself out. But at the end of the day, his favorite place isn’t the yard or the lake…

It’s wherever his people are.

More than anything, Merle wants to be loved.

He’s incredibly affectionate, full of personality, and has a heart that’s every bit as big as he is. He’s the kind of dog who will happily follow you from room to room, always ready for the next adventure or the next belly rub.

One thing about Merle… he doesn’t quite realize how big he is! His excitement and goofy enthusiasm are part of what makes him so lovable, but because of that, he’d do best with a family that has older children who won’t accidentally get knocked over during one of his happy greetings.

After spending the past year waiting, Merle deserves more than just another temporary stop.

He deserves a place where he’ll never have to wonder if he’s staying.

A family who will throw the ball, take him swimming, let him tag along on car rides, and remind him every single day that he’s finally home.
