Ace is a 6-year-old sweetheart who looks a little bit like a bear and has the cuddly personality to match. 🧸❤️

This handsome boy absolutely loves affection—especially a good scratch! He’s happiest when he’s getting attention from his people and would love nothing more than a comfortable home and a family to call his own.

Ace is currently heartworm positive and will be undergoing heartworm treatment. Helmstead Holler Haven Animal Rescue is covering his treatment and veterinary care, so his future family can focus on the most important part: giving Ace all the love and support he deserves while he gets healthy.

Because Ace can be selective about his canine friends, any home with another dog would need to be evaluated to make sure everyone is comfortable together.

What Ace really loves, though, is his people.

Underneath that big teddy-bear exterior is a loving boy who just wants someone to scratch his back, let him curl up nearby, and remind him every day that he’s finally home.

Heartworm positive doesn’t mean Ace can’t have a wonderful future. It’s something we’re treating, and once he’s through this chapter, he’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the happy, healthy life he deserves.

Ace is ready for someone to look beyond his diagnosis and see the wonderful dog standing in front of them.
