🐾❤️ JANICE HAS TWO MODES. THERE IS NO THIRD MODE. ❤️🐾

Hi. Janice here.

After extensive observation, my humans have determined that I operate under a very sophisticated two-mode system:

MODE ONE:

🌳 ADVENTURE JANICE 🌳

Long walk?

YES.

Fetch?

Throw it.

Tug-of-war?

Prepare yourself.

Water?

I’M IN.

Squirrel?

🚨 EVERYONE REMAIN CALM. I HAVE SEEN IT. 🚨

I will personally handle the situation.

Please do not ask why I am attempting to climb the tree. 😂

Then we have…

MODE TWO:

🛋️ COUCH JANICE 🛋️

Adventure complete.

Squirrels adequately monitored.

Now please turn on the television and make room.

I’ll be sprawling here for the foreseeable future. ❤️

Honestly, I believe this makes me an exceptionally well-rounded individual.

I’m smart, playful, affectionate, house-trained, and VERY motivated by treats and toys.

I also learn my humans’ routines quickly.

You go to work?

Fine. I’ll nap.

You come home?

EXCELLENT. Our regularly scheduled programming may resume.

But I should probably tell you something important about me.

I’m not necessarily the girl who meets someone new and immediately thinks:

“BEST FRIEND!!!”

I need a minute.

New people and unfamiliar situations can make me unsure, and sometimes I can react when unfamiliar people approach me or another dog barks at me.

So please don’t rush me.

Let me observe.

Give me some treats.

Allow me to decide you’re trustworthy.

Because once you’re MY person?

I am incredibly loyal, and I LOVE being part of your life. ❤️

I’m also still working on my manners.

Sometimes something catches my attention on a walk and suddenly I become a very determined young lady with somewhere IMPORTANT to be. 😂

Continued positive-reinforcement training will help me polish those skills, and luckily I happen to be both smart AND highly bribable.

Treats were invented for a reason.

Now, regarding small animals…

🐿️ Squirrels: suspicious.

🐱 Cats: also suspicious.

🐰 Other small furry creatures: probably suspicious.

I have a high prey drive, so I need a home without cats or other small pets.

That part is important.

What I really need is someone who understands that the best relationships aren’t always instantaneous.

Give me patience.

Give me structure.

Teach me.

Play with me.

Let me get comfortable at my own pace.

And once I decide you’re one of MY people?

Congratulations.

You have acquired one clever, goofy, loyal adventure buddy who will happily spend the afternoon exploring with you…

…and the evening taking up an unreasonable amount of your couch. 😂❤️

Janice isn’t looking for everybody.
